The State of Nebraska is Searching for Drug Rehab

Throughout the state of Colorado it has been reported that drug and alcohol abuse and addiction is on the rise.  Methamphetamine is the major concern for law enforcement within the state of Nebraska.  Cocaine and heroin are available in limited quantities in the Omaha Metropolitan area.  This is primarily due to the consumer preference for methamphetamine. Marijuana is readily available throughout the state and pharmaceutical drugs continue to be a problem in Nebraska.  Interstate 80 crosses Nebraska from east to west and serves as a major smuggling route for drug trafficking organizations.  The number of Hispanic workers, both legal and illegal, has nearly tripled in the last 10 years and Hispanic children currently represent the largest minority student population in the state.  This rapid population growth has allowed members of drug trafficking organizations with ties to Mexico to more easily blend into the community.

Residents in Nebraska are in desperate need and are searching for effective and successful drug rehab and treatment programs.  According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Statistics for 2008 there were over 47.1 kilograms of cocaine, 8.0 kilograms of methamphetamine and 1,324.6 kilograms of marijuana seized by the federal government.  Mexican poly-drug trafficking organizations that have ties to larger criminal organizations in California, Arizona, Texas and Mexico control and are involved in all types of drug distribution throughout the state.  There is obviously a major drug problem in the state of Nebraska and many people are struggling with addiction.

The state of Nebraska is in trouble and needs immediate help.  The drug and alcohol problem continues to devastate families and entire communities and seems to only be getting worse.  The only real solution to this massive problem is proven, successful and effective long-term in-patient drug rehab facilities.  According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) data, approximately 32,000 Nebraska citizens reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use within the past year.
